About Me

I’m Alex—a designer, artist, and educator passionate about creating learning experiences that ignite curiosity and cultivate connection. With a foundation in Fine Arts and Graphic Design from Athens State University, my work blends creativity with instructional strategy, guided by a deep belief in equity, accessibility, and the transformative power of education.

Currently, I serve as a Registrar at Alabama Connections Academy, where I’m gaining insight into the operational side of education while building the foundations for future leadership. My goal is to grow into roles that allow me to apply inclusive design principles at a systemic level, ensuring that every learner, regardless of need or background, is supported through thoughtful, ethical, and creative approaches.

Over the past eight years, I’ve grown a mobile fine arts studio from five students to over 120 annually, teaching learners of all ages and abilities. I specialize in inclusive design practices, including supporting students with complex communication needs through tools like LAMP (Language Acquisition through Motor Planning®). Whether I’m leading a painting session, illustrating a children’s book, or designing a PD session on AI tools, my mission is the same: to create engaging, meaningful spaces where every learner feels seen, supported, and inspired.

To me, instructional design is more than content creation—it’s storytelling, empathy, and intentional design. I’m especially drawn to emerging technologies like AI and VR, always with an eye toward accessibility and ethical use. Through every medium I touch—whether visual art or curriculum—I aim to bridge imagination with impact.
